GEORGE ALLEN

George Allen (Bsc (med) (Hon), FIISA,MBA) is the Head of Group Risk International. George is a South African who has over 23 years of experience in Insurance and Reinsurance in the Employee Benefits field within the African continent.

George commenced his Insurance career with Mercantile and General as an Underwriter and held underwriting, new business administration and reinsurance management positions with various insurers before joining Munich Reinsurance of Africa. At Munich Re he specialised in New Business Development specifically in reinsurance of Life benefits, health Insurance and Employee benefits. In 2010, he joined Hollard Group Risk International. George is currently the Business development Executive for medworx, and also consults separately on business processes for the Life insurance sector.

 

George’s areas of expertise are in Business development, Risk transfer and management, Product development, business processes and South African and African Insurance markets.

 

George holds a Bsc (med) (hon) Biomedical Sciences from University of Cape Town, a Masters in Business Administration from De Montfort University and is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of South Africa. In his spare time he enjoys Running, Golf and cycling
