As an Independent Financial Advisor, recommending an offshore insurance and investment provider to a client is a significant decision. It reflects on your reputation, your compliance record, and your client's financial future. Here is everything you need to know about International Assurance Limited PCC before you make that recommendation.

Who is IAL?

International Assurance Limited PCC (IAL) is a licensed long-term insurer and Protected Cell Company, regulated by the Mauritius Financial Services Commission (FSC). Founded in 2009, IAL manages over USD 3 billion in assets under administration and serves policyholders in more than 105 countries - exclusively through Independent Financial Advisors.

The product suite

  • Regular Savings Plan - structured long-term savings from USD 12,000/year, flexible contributions in USD, EUR or GBP

  • Linked Investment Policy (LIP) - lump sum investment wrapper with open-architecture investment access

  • Individual Life Insurance - term or whole-of-life coverage from USD 100,000, globally portable, with critical illness and TPD options

  • Group Life Insurance - employee benefit schemes for globally mobile workforces, employer-funded in USD

  • Pension Plan - international retirement structures for globally mobile clients

  • Corporate Savings Scheme - employee savings platforms for companies with globally distributed staff

What protects your client's assets?

IAL's Protected Cell Company structure means every policyholder's assets are legally ring-fenced in a dedicated cell under Mauritius law. This is not a contractual promise - it is a statutory right. Your client's assets cannot be used to meet IAL's corporate obligations or claims from any other policyholder.

All insurance risk is covered by 100% reinsurance treaties with AA+ rated global reinsurers: Gallagher Re, Generali, and Gen Re. IAL carries zero balance sheet risk.

Assets are held by world-class third-party custodians including Interactive Brokers, Vontobel Bank, Cité Gestion, and Capital International Group - with full transparency and audit oversight.

How the IFA relationship works

IAL operates exclusively through IFAs - we never approach clients directly. To recommend IAL products, you will need to establish Terms of Business with IAL. The process is straightforward: your client completes an application form, provides KYC documentation, and you submit it to IAL's Customer Services team. Onboarding is confirmed in writing before any premium is instructed.

What IFAs say about working with IAL

IAL was named Fastest Growing Life Assurance Company in Mauritius by the Global Banking & Finance Awards 2024 and Best Insurance Solutions Provider 2024 by International Business Magazine. Growth at this scale in the IFA channel comes only from consistent delivery, transparent pricing, and genuine support for advisors.
